Bungalows in Aragon

Aragon is an autonomous community in Spain, comprising three provinces – Huesca, Zaragoza, and Teruel. This is one of the biggest communities in Spain and it covers 10% of its territory. To the north of the province, the Pyrenees and their valleys create a natural border between Aragon and France.

The Spanish nature is wild and an interesting destination. Aragon provides many possibilities for nature enthusiasts to enjoy the Spanish countryside and its national parks, as well as the Aragon parts of the Pyrenees. If you want to reconnect with nature, to gain a real perception of the Spanish countryside and its beautiful nature and rich culture, then staying in a bungalow is your best chance to do it.

Aragon’s nature

There are four natural parks and a national park on the premises of Aragon. The weather here allows for a nature holiday even in the autumn or winter. There are many mountain lakes in the area, the Spaniards call them “ibones”

The Ordesa valley is one of the most famous natural attractions in Aragon. It is part of the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, which is situated so that it follows the border between Spain and France. Numerous smaller mountains and their high peaks make up most of this national park. Ordesa is an internationally recognized protected area due to its stunning beauty and diverse ecosystem of forests, meadows, gorges, and many glacier lakes.

La Sierra De Guara is a magnificent mountain characterized by numerous canyons and ravines, carved into the limestone over a million years ago by natural forces such as wind and water. The most spectacular gorges are those of rivers Alcanadre, Guatizalema, Vero and Isuala. There are also picturesque villages in the region – Alquezar and Rodellar – which have flourished in recent years due to the increased tourist interest in them.

Activities

La Sierra de Guara is a popular sport and recreation destination. Hiking through the canyons is the favorite activity of the locals. Rock climbing and exploring the caves are other activities, which you can practice here.

Las Rocas del Masmut is another set of rock formations. It is located in Matarraña – a trerritory famous for its olive and almond trees. You can discover these solitary rocks on a hike starting from the town of Peñarroya de Tastavins. The route will take you to visit the rocks of Masmut, associated with Berber tribes. Along the way you will also pass by the remains of Pont Xafat – a former entrance to the now destructed Muslim castle of Peñarroya. On your trip through this area you will encounter small streams, a lot of vegetation including oaks and pines, as well as spectacular panoramas to the ravines and the enormous rocks.

Adventure sports are also popular, as Aragon is full of perfect locations for almost anything you can think of. There are countless opportunities to practice adventure tourism: you can try rafting, canyoning, as well as mountain biking.
