A hiking holiday in the Provence? This idyllic ruralhut is situated at the foot of a mountain range, in the picturesque wine village of Gigondas. The house is an old fortified tower at the edge of the village. The cottage consists out of two dwellings. The guard house and the fortified tower. Your stay will be in the special guard house. It is a completely independent cottage with its own entrance and private balcony. You enter the cottage from the basement. The stairs will lead you up to the cozy living room. There is a lived-in table and art hanging on the wall. Adjacent to the living room is the open kitchen equipped with an electric hob, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There is a double bedroom and a bathroom on the second floor. The bathroom has a toilet, shower and sink. The cottage still has the atmosphere of long gone times. There are windows at the most surprising places throughout the cottage. These were undoubtedly shooting holes ages ago.

The picturesque village of Gigondas is set at the foot of the ‘Dentelles de Montmirail’ mountain range, part of the Mont Ventoux National park. Signposted walks are set here. You can walk directly into this protected nature reserve from the cottage. It is possible to climb in the Dentelles de Montmirail with a guide. Beautiful cities to visit are: Avignon, Orange, Aix and Provence, Arles, Saint Remy de Provence and Marseille by the sea.
