This ruralhut (NOTICE: Naturists during the summer) consists of two floors, has a spacious living room with sitting area, dining table, and a well-equipped open kitchen. There’s also a wood burning stove, which is nice for during the winter. The naturist campsite with 35 places is opened from 15 May to 15 September; see also house code 25811. The cottage is 55 square meters and has a parent room with a bed of 140x200 centimeters, and a second bedroom with a double bunk bed (4 sleeping places). There is also a bathroom, separate toilet, and a spacious terrace on the east side with beautiful views over the valley. On the inside the cottage is comfortable and environmentally friendly, offering a pleasant stay in winter and summer. There is no radio, TV, or sound system in this cottage. However, there are games, described hikes, information about the area, and especially peace, silence, and overwhelming nature. The owner lives in the Mas above. Here you have internet availability and the washing machine. The owners have been living here for 22 years and would like to tell you all about the area, the most beautiful walks, activities to undertake, and the nicest restaurants. They welcome their guests with a welcome drink, covered beds, and the refrigerator turned on, as well as the heating during the winter. The owner has two neighboring cottages which have been restored entirely while preserving the beautiful original arched doors, the typical Cevennes windows and of course the slate.
Nature and surroundings
The most steep mountains of Europe are set in the Cévennes, this department is the least populated of France. This cottage is set in the border area of the National Parc. In addition, the Unesco has declared the Cévennes a national heritage, which means a lot! There is beautiful and stunning nature here with breathtaking (steep!) views. The animals you can see around here are badgers, weasels, deer, foxes, buzzards, short-toed eagles, and besides that more than 22 different bird species have been identified on the domain. Lastly, the bats may definitely not be forgotten, which have taken in the attic of the landlords. Furthermore, you also have thyme that grows in the wild, as well as mint, the heavily fragrant chestnuts, orchids of all sorts and sizes, scented daffodils, and a lot more other more unique, protected, or simply excessively growing greenery. During the autumn, you can enjoy the chestnuts and edible mushrooms, such as porcini, boletus, and in the past year there was a huge amount of chanterelle. In other words, a beautiful nature reserve, with many marked routes or described walks from the domain or from beyond. The Cévennes are characterized by three different landscapes, types of stone, and the associated vegetation. All of this within a radius of 30 kilometers. The cottage is in the slate area, the Mont Lozère where the Tarn originates in granite, and the overwhelming Causses limestone plateaus. For the more cultural aspect you should always account for a drive of at least an hour or more: The St. Germain de Calberte castle, Florac with the Tarn, and Nimes, Uzes, Vézenobres roughly 1.5 hours away.
