During the day you can go outside, the children can play in the yard or go out to the Drents-Friese Wold, the Weerribben, the Dwingelerveld or one of the other National Parks in between which this nature house is located. The second largest contiguous forest area in the country lies on the border of Friesland and Drenthe. A forest area full of variation, with swamps and drifting sand, with fens and heath, with convex fields and flowering stream valleys. After the Hoge Veluwe, the Drents- Friese Wold (on the border of Drenthe and Friesland) is the largest contiguous forest area in the country. But this National Park is more than just forest. In the Drents-Friese Wold you wander from sand drifts to fens, from heather to marshes. Furthermore, the places Groningen, Leeuwarden, Steenwijk, Giethoorn, Orvelte, Appelscha, Vledder and Diever are well worth a visit.
