This charming rural nature house is located in the wooded area at Wildenburg, a village of the municipality of Wingene, in the heart of West Flanders. The village of Wildenburg was created in the year 1897 and founded by Baron Vanderbruggen. This family had several castles built in Wildenburg. Over the years, certain castles were already demolished. Certain materials were reused in the nature house to reflect the authenticity. These authentic material choices provide the nature house with character. Come and enjoy the tranquility of the large, south-facing garden. When evening falls, the mood lighting provides romantic coziness. The 54-meter long rampart, which was personally dug out, makes a slight curling movement around the house and therefore appears very natural, as if it has been there for centuries. Both the rampart and the house are fully fenced, keeping it safe for children. Explore the area on the Wildenburg Hiking Trail, which is set against the backdrop of a castle park and medieval estate.
Nature and surroundings
In a side street from where the nature house is located, a direct path leaves to Castle Park Wildenburg, which then continues to the provincial domain Lippensgoed-Bulskampveld. It covers no less than 90 km² and is therefore the ideal destination for a day of relaxation in the greenery. Take the beautiful cycling route starting from our nature house through the provincial property Bulskampveld, which ends at the Ghent-Bruges canal. Here you can ride along the water to the historic city of Bruges and even cross it to Ostend. Discover the Bruges countryside further during the numerous child-friendly outings, such as petting zoos, amusement parks and large playgrounds, recreational swimming pools. A day at the Belgian coast, which you can reach in 30 to 40 minutes by car, is of course also a must. The famous cities of Ghent and Ypres are also within easy reach, where you can soak up a lot of culture.
