On a beautiful spot on the Beara Peninsula on the Wild Atlantic Way lies on the narrow coastal road between the villages Eyeries and Ardgroom on Lake Derryvegal our beautifully renovated Irish cottage. For anyone seeking peace and quiet in the overwhelming nature. The house is simple but well furnished. Downstairs is the living room with a wood stove plus electric wall heaters (storage heaters) and a dining area/kitchen. There is a utility room and and toilet. Upstairs are the two bedrooms, a shower/sink and an electric wc. From the house/terrace views over Derryvegal Lake, rocks, Kenmare Bay and the Kerry mountains. The acres of park-like garden abuts the lake. Our neighbors Anna and Sean are hosts. They are always available to everyone.

Unspoiled nature is overwhelming. All around us special plants and ferns. There is much to see for hikers and birdwatchers. In short, a magical place. The 200-kilometer Beara Way is within walking distance. The Atlantic Ocean is always and everywhere. Sometimes we see whales and dolphins. And always gannets. On Beara close to our home the villages of Eyeries and Ardgroom (pubs, regularly with music) and the town of Castletownbere Haven, an important fishing port. Remnants of Celtic culture can be found everywhere (Ogham stone and stone circles).
