Nature and surroundings
So much variety from one cottage is hardly possible. From Overzee you are within 5 minutes from the Wadden dike looking out over the unique mud flats with all its variation. Never the same. The Terschellingerpolder is literally behind the front door. Many meadow birds can be found here. Polder beauty. A good 20-minute walk through a beautiful dune area without any horizon pollution leads you to the widest beach in the Netherlands. From the dunes it is a 5-10 minute walk to the surf of the North Sea. A few minutes by bike you will find the particularly beautiful Hoornse bos. Built in the 30s. Hiking trails take you through this forest to the most beautiful places. And what about Europe's first Dark Sky Park where you can even see the northern lights in the autumn? Boschplaat can be reached within a few minutes' walk. Hours later you can end up at the Amelandergatat via the famous Drenkelingenhuisje where you can see Ameland's lighthouse.
