The cottage is located at the back of the property in the orchard with fruit trees. Although the cottage is simple, it has all the basic amenities. There is a small bedroom with a double bed, a shower and separate toilet. The room and kitchen are one space. In principle, we assume rental to 2 persons, but this can be expanded to up to 4 persons. From the living room you enter the raised and enclosed veranda, but you can also feel free to sit in the orchard. For colder nights, there is a wood stove. Because the cottage is completely solar powered, you should be aware that you cannot use too many appliances at once and that possibly the water heater will need some time to reheat after showering (about 10 minutes). Upon arrival you will be surprised by a small vineyard and a monumental gardener's house in the style of the Amsterdam School. If you love animals it is ideal, see the pictures. A dog is welcome, provided it does not chase the animals....

On request it is possible to place a tent. From the site, but also in the immediate vicinity are beautiful hiking and cycling trips to make, largely on specially constructed paths. Around the Lauwersmeer it is also beautiful walking. The area is a 'dark skies area'; the Milky Way, the stars and the moon are clearly visible on clear nights. A visit to 'De Theefabriek' with a store, terrace and delicious types of tea and to the fishing village of Zoutkamp with its fishing fleet and Scandinavian cottages can easily be combined. You can also take a day trip to Schiermonnikoog or go mudflat hiking and seal watching from Pieterburen. If you are more in for some fun, some shopping and a pub, Winsum (most beautiful village in the Netherlands in 2020) and Groningen are not far away.
