Unique nature

The nature of Baden-Württemberg deserves special attention. Most of the region's area is covered by the lush forests of the Black Forest, the name of which translates as "Black Forest". It is here that the famous Danube begins. The natural pearl of the region is Lake Constance, which is often called the "Swabian Sea". This largest lake in the country dates the beginning of the famous Rhine. The purest lake, crowned with a panorama of the Alpine mountains, all kinds of campgrounds and hotels, as well as a well-developed infrastructure, attract a lot of tourists here. The flower-filled Mainau Island and the UNESCO-listed Reichenau Island are a must-see.

Mainau, also known as the Flower Island, is a beautiful island in Lake Constance in Germany. The island belongs to the Lennart Bernadotte Foundation, which was created by the Prince of Sweden and the Duke of Småland. This magnificent island attracts over a million tourists every year with its famous butterfly greenhouse! Mainau is maintained as a garden island and today it is a place where you can find many different gardens that bloom at any time of the year. You can find orchids, roses, dahlias and more here! And this island in Lake Constance also has a love story! It is known that the island owes its beautiful view to Count Lennart Bernadotte! In 1932, the count tastefully married a commoner and then moved to Mainau, but when they moved here, they all saw many wild plants brought back by previous members of the royal family such as Nicholas III. Esterhazy to the island. Therefore, the Count and his beautiful wife wanted to make this island home and began to improve it, and then opened it to the public! Thanks to them, today we can admire the real beauty of this island. And a little tip; if you like tulips come here in spring. If you are a george fan, then you should come here in autumn. In summer, the island is filled with gorgeous roses. So if you want to check out the island and its beautiful gardens, here's your guide!

Okay, first of all, butterfly house. You will see not only beautiful butterflies, but also fascinating unique vegetation and exotic nature. You will find over 120 species of butterflies from Africa, Asia, Central and South America! But I must warn you that in order to create ideal conditions for cute butterflies, the house is very humid and at temperatures around 25-30°C. You can see not only butterflies, but also butterflies with a wingspan of up to 30cm! And let's not forget the cute caterpillars, too. If you come here with your children, then this is a great opportunity to show them the entire life cycle of beautiful butterflies. After seeing the butterfly, be sure to enjoy some ice cream at the shops. And, of course, do not forget to give your loved ones a souvenir.

There are many other gardens in Mainau, but the one that stole my heart is the Italian rose garden. Here you will see marble statues, fountains and a geometric garden with an amazing scent of roses. Not only classic roses, but also mesmerizing trellis climbing, pink pyramids and much more. I'm not kidding, there are over 1200 types of roses here! You should definitely check it out!

Beautiful landscapes on the Black Forest and Schwabskite Alpi, the valley on the Neckar and the Ezeroto Constance, the Algiau region planinsky, a visit to the Odenwald, the Vineno Putuvane to the Heilbron or Schutgart region - all the guests are not so different, truly tuk. And Baden-Württemberg is a very popular country.

This is one of the favorite places for tourists from Europe. Until all hailstones in the Black Forest can be found in the forest and in the forest from Baden-Baden or from the stake in the Black Forest. Plan on the Black Forest not so grandiose, the most high-profile point, at Feldberg, itself 1493 meters. But the mountain chain, which stretches along the Rhine River, is not a lot of picturesque, in it, the gust of the mountains is crystal clear, the jelly of the Ezer is crystal clear and the Danube comes from fat. In the mountains there are ancient beautiful small towns - Gengenbach, Schiltach, Haslach-im-Kinzigtal(the latter two are especially famous for half-timbered architecture), Altensteig, Gern-sbach. Baiersbronn is a famous center for fine dining.

In addition to Baden-Baden, there are thermal springs and swimming pools in other cities - Badenweiler, Bad Herrenalbe, Bad Wildbad, Bad Crozingen, Bad Liebenzell and Bad Bellingen. Please note that all these cities start with Bad(German for bathroom). This is a common model: not only here, but in all other regions of Germany, the names of the resort towns begin with "Bad", where there are underground sources of healing water and clinics and sanatoriums built around them.

Climate and weather Baden-Württemberg

Baden-Württemberg's climate belongs to the continental type with pronounced seasons. Climatic winter lasts from December to February with the coldest month in January, climatic spring - from March to May, summer - from June to August with the hottest months in July and August, climatic autumn - from September to November.

Most of Baden-Württemberg is covered by the forests of the Black Forest and the Swabian Mountains, and although the mountains are low, this is enough to mitigate the climate and protect the area from the weather. In general, rainfall in the north-west of Baden-Württemberg is somewhat more frequent than in the south. Freiburg is considered to be the sunniest city in Baden-Württemberg, with a total of more than 300 sunny days a year. Precipitation in the form of snow falls in Baden-Württemberg at Christmas and lasts for several days, then melts. The snow cover lasts longer only in the mountains. In cities surrounded by mountains, such as Baden-Baden or Stuttgart, the microclimate is milder because they are located in a mountain valley, sheltered from strong winds and bad weather.
