The exceptionally long caravan (9.5 meters) was built in the 1950s and with three separate rooms (kitchen, lounge, bedroom) is almost an ordinary house. The three rooms separated by original panels of wood with etched and cut glass. With the furnishings we have tried to restore as much as possible the original fifties style (including brocantes crockery). The trailer originally did not include plumbing or water connections. We chose to leave it that way. Next to the wagons is a water tap, a wooden shower stall (water heated by the sun) and a wooden toilet stall (flush with bucket water). There is also a common toilet building with a normal toilet and shower. You can use the accompanying mobile home if you come with more than 2 people. This gives you an extra bedroom and play area (under the bed) for the children. An extra children's mattress can also be placed under the bedstead.

We live in the Thiérache, a beautiful and non-touristy region just across the Belgian border, in the foothills of the French Ardennes. Under the name Atelier de la Charité, we rent out five pitches and four other accommodations. On our large property (3 ha) we let nature take its course for the most part. Cars stay in the parking lot, there are no paved paths. There is plenty of space so you can seek both the silence and the company of other guests. In the summer we organize communal meals. The surrounding landscape is green and rolling, meadows with hedges alternate with woods, the so-called coulisse landscape. There are many watercourses and a maze of country roads with small villages. You can make beautiful walking, cycling or canoeing trips and visit the fortified churches typical of the region. From April to October, flea markets (brocantes) are organized on Sundays and holidays.
