Would you like to completely relax? Walking or cycling in the beautiful Reestdal or the rest of the beautiful surroundings? Or are you looking for a nice place to work quietly? Our cottage is THE place to spend a few (weekend) days or a complete vacation. We (Niels & Gerlinde with our 2 children and animals) live in the beautiful countryside of Balkbrug in Overijssel. We enjoy the outdoors there to the fullest and want you to enjoy it with us. Our cottage is detached, with a terrace at the back with an unobstructed view over the meadows, where you may encounter the beautiful cows of our neighbors. In our yard there are 2 dogs, a cat and chickens running free.

The nature house is within walking distance of the beautiful Reest valley. The Reest valley is an attractive cycling and hiking area. The Havixhorst estate near De Wijk and the extensive Wildenberg-Rabbinge woods and heathland are particularly suitable for walkers. On the Overijssel side, the Haardennen forest and heathland area forms an attractive walking area. The visitor center De Wheem of 'Landschap Overijssel' is located in Oud-Avereest. An information center of Het Drentse Landschap is located in the old farmstead 't Ende near the hamlet of De Stapel. Walking and cycling routes can be found at Eindje om in Drenthe. Also located "The Ommerschans" within cycling distance. In the Ommerschans you end up in two worlds: a wonderful open landscape and the closed wooded area near the old entrenchment. There are still many visible traces of the Colony past. There are several swimming facilities within cycling distance, such as the Heuveltjesbosbad in Balkbrug and swimming/forest pond the Zwarte Dennen in Staphorst.
