In the vicinity are many trips such as to the windmills of Kinderdijk, the Adventure Farm in Groot Ammers or silver city Schoonhoven. Larger cities such as Dordrecht and Rotterdam can be reached in 20 minutes by car. The car can be parked on private property right next to the cottage.

You will find this cottage in The Donkse Laagten, this is an open peat meadow area with great natural history value. There are marshy meadows where rare plants grow and many meadow birds have their nesting place. From the cottage you have kilometers of unobstructed views. Birdwatchers and nature photographers are enthusiastic about this area. This Natura 2000 area is managed by the Forestry Commission. Nearby you will find Unesco World Heritage Site "The Mills of Kinderdijk". There are beautiful places in the area such as Nieuwpoort, Schoonhoven, the historic city of Dordrecht and Gouda. The cottage is located on walking route "The Pilgrim Trail" and it is a beautiful area to explore by bike.
