In the middle of the Morvan is our nature house named after the French family that has lived here for several generations. The house has spectacular views all year round. We have thoroughly renovated since 2018. The result is a generous and robust cottage, comfortable and decorated while maintaining authentic details and atmosphere. The detached house with 2000 m2 garden and orchard offers lots of privacy, it is located between meadows without through traffic. From 1-8-'24 is a charging station available. We rent the old house as a gîte for 2-4 people. Entrance via the outside stairs into the large living/sitting room (36m2) with open kitchen, dining area and wood stove. The adjacent "upstairs room" with linen closet is the 2nd bedroom. Through here you walk to the staircase that leads halfway to the bathroom with walk-in shower and toilet. The stairs lead further upstairs to the generous 2 person master bedroom. We hope that the tenants of this cottage will be as happy with this place and the house as we are!

The Morvan is one of France's oldest natural parks. The granite massif is rolling and unspoiled. There are extensive and ancient forests, many meandering watercourses and (reservoir) lakes, old footpaths and rolling meadows with hedges. An ideal place for people looking for silence and some more rugged nature. There are endless hiking trails and mountain bike routes and lots of fishing. There are historical and archaeological sites (Bibracte, mont Beuvray) and several attractive, sometimes sleepy villages to visit (Vézelay, Lucy). From April to October, there are often brocante markets to browse. Autun and Beaune are about an hour's drive away and well worth a visit. Our house is located in the hilly heart of the Morvan. It offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills. There are also reservoirs where you can swim, canoe or fish. The quiet Lac de Pannecière and the busier, more touristy Lac des Settons are 7 and 10 km away respectively.
