Unwind in this cozy comfortable nature house in N.P. de Biesbosch. Originally a typical rural worker's cottage, built around 1900. Now a restored monument, tastefully and creatively decorated, with attention to (Biesbosch) history and art. Make use of the library and various games. There is an electric fireplace in the cozy sitting area. With the underfloor heating, this is also a lovely cozy place in winter! The cheerful kitchen is fully equipped for a stay a little further from civilization, but you can already eat out within 5 km. Enjoy the sun on the terrace with seating and lounge chairs and BBQ. On the dike is a picnic table where you can experience the most beautiful sunset over the water of the Biesbosch. In the evening you lie on your comfortable king-size box spring listening to the silence and the calling owls: this is the Biesbosch! Private access and parking. The nights here are dark, let yourself be impressed by an immense starry sky ! Directly from your nature house there are many walking and cycling routes. Nearby, in season, the bicycle ferry sails to the Noordwaard, the other side of the Biesbosch. Below the dike runs the Steurgat, one of the larger creeks of the Biesbosch, so you can swim and sail directly from your cottage. We have a 2 pers. There is plenty of wildlife around the house: hedgehogs, hares, foxes and even the pine marten has been spotted. Look around at the wealth of bird species, hear the Golden Oriole and see the Hen Harrier and the iconic Bald Eagle ! Go out actively, into the Biesbosch, and admire the Unesco World Heritage Site the Dutch Waterline. Or stroll through the fortified towns of Woudrichem and Heusden. If available, we can bring fresh seasonal produce from our organic vegetable garden or fresh free-range eggs from our adjacent farm.
