Welcome to Fanghetto, a picturesque 13th-century village perched on a rock in the heart of the Roya Valley on the French-Italian border, with stone houses and narrow, pedestrian-friendly streets. The village was built by monks among olive trees, and is just a few minutes' walk from the Roya river. We've put together a guide to the best bathing spots around the house. Some spots can be reached by taking a stroll through the terraced olive groves. At the end of the path, you'll find magnificent natural pools, still untouched, or sandy beaches on the banks of the Roya. Just a few minutes' walk from the house, along the main road, you'll discover our local grocery store/bar. Marisa opens her Alibaba cave to you in a typically Italian atmosphere.
